The Oxford Punch Needle is hand made in Vermont. The needle is for use with yarn and other fibers in rug making. The needle was created by Amy Oxford and was made to be ergonomically correct for comfort when hooking. The needle is electro-polished stainless steel which easily glides through the rug backing. No moving parts to break. The needle comes with two choices for widths, regular and fine (the #13 and #14 only come in fine). Use the regular needle for bulky yarns, 3-ply rug yarns or up to 1/4" (#8 cut) fabric strips. You can also put multiple strands of thinner yarns through the regular needle at the same time. Use the fine needle for thinner yarns like worsted weight, sport weight or sock weight or up to 3/32" or (#3 cut) fabric strips. If it will flow through the needle, use it!! The #8, regular and fine needle, makes a 1/2" loop, the #9 regular and fine needle, makes a 3/8" loop, the #10 regular and fine needle, makes a 1/4" loop, the #13 fine makes a 3/16" loop, the #14 fine makes a 1/4" loop.
